…On a Silver Platter

My friend Tanner had been growing his facial hair for a couple months, and we finally had a chance to take a few portraits in the studio the other day.

However, we couldn’t waste the opportunity by taking some basic portraits, so we decided to spice it up. x

TIME Festival

TIME Festival returned to Toronto’s historic Fort York on a drizzly, wet saturday afternoon this past weekend. However, the rain did not keep music lovers away with acts like Jon Hopkins, Action Bronson, Flume and the always adorable Grimes. During the course of the concert I also managed to grab a couple portraits of a few artists backstage including Jon Hopkins (a personal favourite of mine), Lowell, Majical Cloudz, and Action Bronson, expanding my musician portrait portfolio.

Hayden at the Dakota

On Tuesday night my friend Tanner called to let me know that Hayden would be playing a just announced show that night at The Dakota Tavern. In 2001 I heard him for the first time when I saw the music video for Dynamite Walls on MuchMusic, and from that point on I have been hooked. Being a longtime fan it was amazing to see him in such a small intimate atmosphere, and he did not disappoint.
Cruising through classics like Dynamite Walls, he also played a handful of new songs which will be taken into the studio soon. I took a handful of shots during the show, and then afterwards when they were done their packing up, he was nice enough to have a seat and let me grab a couple quick portraits.

Identity Lost

I spent about four days in my hometown of Paris, Ontario shooting images for my photo series Identity Lost. I went into the shoot with the thought of capturing the town from perspectives not normally seen, and with the intention of combining these images with self portraits.
Here is a selection of images I did not end up using for the project, but that I really liked and felt the need to share with you.
